Today in science class we went over our 2-3 page essays on the skeletal system.

We then saw a movie on the skeletal system. It talked about cartilage between your bones and in babies. It was a very interesting movie. It also covered joints. A joint is a place where 2 bones meet.
Well now you know we did in science class.

Did you know that oil is the single most important product countries trade today? Over 90% of the worlds transportation runs on petroleum. But there are other alternitives to gas guzzling vehicals. Take the MiniCat which runs completely on compressed air.

Americans keep wanting bigger and bigger cars and s.u.vs.You can also buy a hybrid car.
People predict that 2.6 trillion barrels of oil are left. In 1956 M.King Hubbert introduced the idea of a oil production peak.

Once half the oil runs out, oil will become harder to drill. They will have to use oil shale. Oil shale is expensive to turn into oil.
Today many countries rely on OPEC. That is the summary of A Crude Awakening.

Dear Mary,
I am writing about Kemal Ataturk and his influence on the Turkish people. I have attached a photo of him.

In 1925 Mustafa Kemal (Kemal Ataturk) the all powerful president ( dictator) appeared wearing western clothing and a brimmed hat. He then ordered all Turkish men to stop wearing fezzes, and made a law forbidding wearing them. Many Turks were upset.Turks said if you gave up your fez you gave up being Muslim.New laws also changed the lives of women in Turkey. Before Kemal Ataturk women wore vails to hide their faces,Kemal made a law saying they could no longer be worn. He wanted to modernize the country of Turkey. He also thaught that women should be equal so girls then went to school and women took up jobs in buisness and government. He also gave women the right to vote. I am very grateful of Kemal Ataturk’s decision to make women equal. If it wasn’t for him I wouldn’t be going to school, and my mom would not be able to work or vote. Did you know that he also moved the capitol from Istanbul to where it is now in Ankara. He even made a new alphabet and it was based on Roman alphabet and European languages. Well I must go to school now.
sincerely your pen pal,
Yonca Zeki (Emilee)

At the beginning of the class we discussed Body Worlds because I saw this exhibition yesterday in Boston at the Science Museum. It was really, really cool and very interesting. After that discussion we watched a fifteen minute video on bees and wasps. We had a quick review of tonight’s homework which is either on the hornet, bumble bee or the honey bee.

Today in math class we talked about Channel 3 Country Camp. Miss.V. asked if we had any questions and then told us that we would be having tacos for lunch and turkey with mashed potatoes for dinner. She explained what the different meal jobs were. There will be a server who gets the food, ascraper who scrapes off the food when everyone finnished eating, and a wiper who wipes off the table. Then we talked briefly about the rules and expectations. A few minutes later the bell rang.
